Gibson Bros Ltd, Fairlie have employed George Kerr as an apprentice, after completing the NZ Certificate in Mechanical Engineering programme.
George was a student at Mackenzie College, initially gaining a Gateway placement at Gibson Bros.
Impressed with George’s work ethic and ability, Gibson Bros Ltd owners, Grant and Mags Gibson, offered him an apprenticeship. George and Gibson Bros have been supported by the Regional Apprentice Initiative funding.
Grant and Mags worked with Leaine Rush, Mayors Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ) co-ordinator, during the application process and were successful in securing the funding.
Mackenzie District Council and MTFJ wish George every success in his new career pathway.
