Joe Brien was the first person to benefit from the Mayors Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ) funding.
MTFJ and the Mackenzie District Council were pleased to support Joe and his employer, M J Donnelly, Fairlie, with funding to assist with purchasing a toolbox (pictured) and tools for his work.
Joe was a Gateway student from Mackenzie College, and has a passion for machines and fixing them. Mick Donnelly, owner of M J Donnelly, was impressed with Joe’s work ethic and enthusiasm, offering him the opportunity to complete an Automotive Heavy Engineering apprenticeship while working at M J Donnelly.
Joe has proved to be an asset to M J Donnelly from his first day and is currently working his way through his apprenticeship modules.
Mackenzie District Council and MTFJ are pleased to support Joe in his new career in an industry which is desperate for qualified technicians.
