Breen Construction have had a presence in the Mackenzie District for some time. With project work increasing they have recently appointed Luca Stewart as an apprentice to their team at Twizel.
Luca was a student at the Twizel Area school who become involved with Breen construction through the Gateway Programme for construction experience.
After spending time with Breen Construction through this programme Luca decided to leave school and started his time as a building apprentice supported by the BCITO.
We caught up with Luca recently on a local building site where he was working on a renovation, who informed us that he was enjoying his new career as an apprentice carpenter.
Jason Pryde from Breen Construction worked with Leaine Rush, Mayors Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ) co-ordinator, to secure funding for Luca. Jason is complimentary of Luca and is looking forward to him gaining his trade under the guidance of Breen Construction.
Mackenzie District Council and MTFJ are pleased to have another building apprentice in the region, and wish Luca every success.
