Cadigan Engineering in Twizel have recently secured two new apprentices.
Owen French (right) was a gateway student from Twizel Area School, later starting an apprenticeship in Engineering Fabrication. Owen is enjoying working with Dwane Cadigan and the team and learning various tricks of the trade.
Logan Michelle (left) returned to New Zealand after time in Australia, shifting to Twizel with his family.
Logan contacted Leaine Rush, Mayors Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ) co-ordinator, about an apprenticeship opportunity and the rest is history. Logan has started a Heavy Diesel apprenticeship under the guidance of Simon Tessier. Logan is surviving his first winter in Twizel (always a shock to the system) and has commented positively on Simon’s teaching.
Dwane and Gina Cadigan received funding from MTFJ for both Owen and Logan, and Mackenzie District Council and MTFJ wish both apprentices all the best with their new careers.
