Twizel water meter update - 26 February 2024

The project in Twizel to install water meters is progressing well. So far we have installed approximately a quarter of the total number (about 500).

Wilding Pine Removals - Reserve 4038

In late December, the Council started the removal of 50ha of mature wilding Contorta and Corsican Pine. The removal of this block removes highly flammable material on the boundary of the Pukaki Airport and Twizel township.

Over winter a large vehicle caused damage to Boundary Stream Bridge, a single lane bridge on Lilybank Road.

Solar array hearing decision

The Commissioners jointly appointed under the Resource Management Act 1991 by Mackenzie District Council and Environment Canterbury to hear and decide consent applications CRC224567, CRC230898 and RM220048, which sought to authorise activities associated with the construction and operation of a solar array at 397 Braemar Road, Tekapo, have today issued a decision.
