Mackenzie District Council is currently identifying potentially Earthquake Prone Buildings (EPB) or parts of buildings in our district as required by the Building Act 2004. Assessments are made using the Earthquake Prone Building Methodology.
These are generally ‘public’ buildings; we are not required to assess private dwellings, farm buildings and certain other buildings except for where they may impact Strategic Routes. Council is undertaking public consultation to invite feedback on the proposal for the identification of Strategic Routes and Priority Thoroughfares.
