Mackenzie District Council is looking for new grants committee members.
The council allocates grants twice a year. This works best if members of the community make the decisions on where the money should go. We need up to five volunteers who are willing to step forward and give their time twice a year as members of a grants committee.
We are looking for:
- People with an arts background to help allocate Creative New Zealand funding to local arts projects.
- People with a sports background to help allocate Sport New Zealand funding to local children’s sports clubs and school sports teams.
- A spread of people from all three townships, and also rural areas.
- People with a Maori background.
- People with a community focus.
These positions are unpaid because we want all of the money to go into the community. But it’s very rewarding to support worthwhile groups who are making a difference in people’s lives. If you would like to register your interest, or need more information, please contact the grants officer arlene.goss@mackenzie.govt.nz.
