Council's roading contractors, Fulton Hogan, are making the most of the settled weather conditions on Lilybank Rd, alongside Lake Tekapo, undertaking onsite blending to condition the road ready for the winter ahead.
The work involves the importing of ‘rotten rock’ to site, and blending in with the existing road surface materials to create a more resilient surface, which is less likely for faults to occur compared to a typical unsealed road surface.
The work will be completed prior to ski season, and the opening of the nearby Roundhill Ski Area.
