Proposed Plan Changes 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27

Pursuant to Clause 10 of Schedule of the Resource Management Act 1991 the Mackenzie District Council gives public notice of the decision of the Independent Hearing Panel on Plan Changes 23 to 27 to the Mackenzie District Plan.

Plan Changes 23 to 27 form Stage 3 of the review of the Mackenzie District Plan and incorporate the following chapters to the Mackenzie District Plan:

Plan Change 23

Part 2 – District Wide Matters
  • Natural Environmental Values
  • Natural Character (NATC)
    • Natural Features and Landscapes (NFL)
Part 3 – Area Specific Matters
  • Zones  
    • Rural Zones  
      • General Rural Zone (GRUZ) – including a new ‘Takamana / Lake Alexandrina Hut Settlements Precinct’ (PREC3)

Plan Change 24

Part 2 – District Wide Matters
  • Historical and Cultural Values  
    • Sites and Areas of Significance to Māori (SASM)

Plan Change 25

Part 3 – Area Specific Matters
  • Zones
  • Rural Zones
  • Rural Lifestyle Zone (RLZ) – including a new ‘Ōhau River Precinct’ (PREC4)

Plan Change 26

Part 2 – District Wide Matters
  • Energy, Infrastructure and Transport

Plan Changes 23 to 27 also replace, delete or amend (in part) various sections of the Operative Mackenzie District Plan.

Appeals

Any person who made a submission on Plan Changes 23 to 27 may appeal to the Environment Court against the decision. Appeals must be in the format prescribed and lodged with the Environment Court within 30 working days of the notice being served on Monday 5 August 2024, being 16th September 2024.  The appellant must also serve a copy of the notice in the prescribed manner to the Mackenzie District Council. Attention is drawn to Clause 14 of Schedule 1 of the Resource Management Act 1991.
