Wallaby Control at Woodburn Plantation - Burkes Pass - August 2024

Baiting is taking place for pest control of wallabies in the forestry areas at Woodburn Plantation, Burkes Pass between Tuesday 6 August and Saturday 31 August 2024.

Wallaby populations have become a common sight in this area, and to help prevent the wallaby population from growing, bait drops will take place using Sodium Fluoroacetate (1080) cereal bait, following a non toxic aerial pre-feed.

Please keep children and pets under supervision in this area. This is to avoid the poisonous bait, and the resultant wallaby carcases.

The area being baited is within the purple area of the map, adjacent to State Highway 8.

Signage will be in place for this area, with information on the work. If you have any queries, please contact Council on 0800 685 8514.
