We know that Tekapo has many passionate residents who are keen to make our town the best it can be.
Traffic is one of the things that can define a town. In a popular area like Tekapo how traffic flow and parking can significantly change the feel of the central area.
Your Community Board wants to create a vision for traffic management for the future to guide development and help with decision-making. We want to know what you'd like in that future.
We are presenting three different scenarios for the town centre, but we want to know what your preferences are for some specific areas:
- Maximise vehicle access and parking.
- Balance parking with current and future land use.
- Spaces for people while consolidating parking to one side.

Drop-in sessions
We are holding a number of drop-in sessions covering the Tekapo Traffic Master Plan. These will take place at Lake Tekapo Community Hall on the following dates.

- Thursday 1 May 2025 - 7.00am - 5.00pm
- Wednesday 7 May 2025 - 7.00am - 4.00pm
- Monday 12 May 2025 - 9.00am - 4.00pm
