Planned Closures
Mount Cook Street (between numbers 3 and 36), Twizel - Wednesday 15 October to Friday 19 December
Mount Cook Street (between numbers 1 and 16), Twizel will be closed from Wednesday 15 October to Friday 19 December for car park and kerb and channel works, as part of the Twizel Area School rebuild.
There will be limited access for residents only.

Ardmore Road, Albury - Thursday 18 December to Friday 19 December 2025
Ardmore Road, Albury will be closed from Thursday 18 December to Friday 19 December for tree felling work, between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm.
The closure covers Ardmore Road from the Coal Pit Road intersection. There will be a traffic detour on Coal Pit Road.

Main Street, Fairlie - Thursday 1 January 2026
Pursuant to the Local Government Act 1974 and Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, notice is hereby given that the Mackenzie District Council and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, for the purpose of a New Years Day Parade to be held by Mackenzie Roads will close:
- State Highway 8 (Main Street) between Allandale Road (SH79) and Gray Street
- Regent Street at SH8 corner
- School Road at SH8 corner
- Talbot Road at SH8 corner
- Kirke Street at SH8 corner
- Hamilton Street at SH8 corner
- Riddle Street
The closures will take place from 12.00pm to 5.00pm on 1 January 2026
During the proposed period of closure, the following provision will be made for ordinary vehicular traffic, which would otherwise use the road:
- The alternative route will be via Gray Street.
